Carbon is a material that, according to its crystalline structure, is capable of taking the form of graphite or
of diamond, it can also become a material with unique qualities that can
replace conventional materials on a large scale.

Thus very small carbon fibers, immersed in a support polymer (normally
resin) are a very light and highly resistant material.

Each carbon filament is the union of many thousands of carbon fibers. A filament is a fine
tube with a diameter of 5–8 microns.

It has mechanical properties similar to steel, but it is much lighter.
